OSB Sheathing Calculator

Use this OSB sheathing calculator to estimate how many OSB sheets you need for walls, roofs, floors, gable ends, or repair areas. It also gives a rough material-only cost if you enter your local OSB price per sheet.

This is a material planning calculator. It does not choose panel thickness, span rating, exposure rating, fastening schedule, braced wall method, roof diaphragm design, floor stiffness, or code compliance.

Estimate your OSB sheathing

Use square feet after subtracting only large openings. Do not over-deduct small cuts.
Use your local store or supplier price. This default is only a placeholder.

How this estimate works

The calculator divides net sheathing area by panel coverage, adds waste, adds optional extra sheets, and multiplies by your local OSB price if you want a material-only estimate.

What it does not decide

It does not decide whether OSB is right for the location. Wet edges, roofs, exposed repairs, manufacturer requirements, local code, and structural needs still matter.
